The Ups and Downs in Our Mental Health

September 12, 2023

Emotions are a bit like waves on the sea, mostly they are calm and ebb and flow, but occasionally they hit the rocks; for example your car could break down on the motorway or the oven could stop working on Christmas day when you’ve got the family coming over.

At other times, external factors can cause a storm to build up, quite often as a result of the people you have to interact with; you could be made redundant or another company could cancel a contract they had with your business.

At times like this, it’s easy to start doubting ourselves, especially when we are healing from past trauma. You may start experiencing negative thoughts and even question whether you are actually getting any better or whether your business is a failure.

If you are feeling down because of things out of your control, being part of this community means you will have another person to talk to, someone who has no skin in the game and is able to listen and offer support.

Knowing the forces mindset, you will get honest feedback for sure and people who can hopefully help you re-centre and refocus.

Set backs can really throw you off your feet and it may take some time for you to feel yourself again; it may take a couple of hours or even a couple of months depending on what has happened and any steps that you need to take to readjust.

The longer it takes, the more times you may need help, but please never feel like you are a burden. And one day, when you have got through your turbulent period, you may be able to help someone else.
