Books I have Enjoyed this Year

September 15, 2023

Sometimes we can forget the joy of reading; by the time we go to bed, we’re too tired to do anything other than sleep and/or we don’t make the time to pick up a book as we used to.

I went through that phase in 2022, but was reminded of my love of reading novels by two friends talking about the books they had recently read this year. These are my top 4 so far in 2023:

1. The Alchemist by Paul Coelho

I found it atmospheric and riveting. I could not wait to pick it up again each time.

2. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson

This one had me laughing most of the way through; easy to pick up and put down.

3. If Cats Disappeared From the World by Genki Kawamura

Please don’t be put off by the title if cats aren’t your favourite pet. The novel is much more profound; tissues may be required.

4. Agent Zigzig by Ben Macintyre

A story based on the life of Eddie Chapman during WW2.
Atmospheric and I found it very easy to read.
