Le Jour De Gloire Est Arrivé…

July 27, 2024

I can remember discussing the Olympics Sevens tournament last Wednesday with a rugby mate; they stated that France has never been a dominant team in 7s and we both agreed that Fiji and the All Blacks have usually excelled in this tournament.

So to find myself watching my team climb onto the podium to receive their gold medals a few minutes ago has been so very special. I refuse to be drawn in on the hype surrounding our Martian / Minister from the Interior, as it’s been a team effort from the players themselves down to the physio who had overseen their fitness.

Believing in a dream refers to the conviction and commitment to pursue one’s aspirations, goals, or visions, despite challenges or obstacles. This concept is deeply rooted in personal motivation, hope, and determination. Here are some key aspects of what it means to believe in a dream:

1. Passion and Desire

  • Intrinsic Motivation: Believing in a dream often starts with a deep passion or desire for something meaningful. This intrinsic motivation drives individuals to pursue their goals with enthusiasm and persistence.
  • Vision: Having a clear vision of what you want to achieve provides direction and purpose, making it easier to stay focused and motivated.

2. Commitment and Dedication

  • Consistent Effort: Achieving a dream requires consistent effort and dedication over time. It involves setting goals, making plans, and taking concrete actions to move towards the desired outcome.
  • Resilience: Believing in a dream means being resilient in the face of setbacks and failures. It involves viewing challenges as opportunities to learn and grow rather than as insurmountable obstacles.

3. Overcoming Doubt and Fear

  • Self-Belief: A crucial component of pursuing a dream is having confidence in oneself and one’s abilities. This self-belief helps overcome self-doubt and the fear of failure.
  • Positive Mindset: Maintaining a positive and optimistic outlook, even when things are tough, is essential for staying motivated and inspired.

4. Support and Encouragement

  • Community and Mentorship: Having a support system of friends, family, mentors, or like-minded individuals can provide encouragement, advice, and motivation.
  • Inspiration: Surrounding oneself with inspirational stories, role models, and success stories can reinforce the belief that achieving the dream is possible.

5. Persistence and Adaptability

  • Adaptation: The path to achieving a dream is rarely straightforward. Being willing to adapt and adjust plans as needed is crucial for navigating challenges and changing circumstances.
  • Long-Term Perspective: Believing in a dream often requires a long-term perspective. It involves recognizing that success may not come immediately but persevering with patience and determination.

6. Purpose and Meaning

  • Sense of Purpose: Believing in a dream gives a sense of purpose and meaning to one’s actions. It provides a reason to keep pushing forward, even when the journey is difficult.
  • Impact: Many people are driven by the desire to make a positive impact, whether in their own lives, the lives of others, or the world at large. This larger purpose can be a powerful motivator.

Tonight everything came together at the Stade de France and it was magical.

Un grand merci a toute l’equipe!! 🙂
