The title of this track, to me, summarises the rollercoaster that international rugby teams can go through over the years. When you’re good, you’re good and from time to time, nothing seems to go right.
Yes we all love our national teams to have a walk over game where they just overwhelm an opponent on the day, but rugby is a better sport to watch when it’s down to the wire and things are close.
General comments from everyone in the rugby group is that this is the strongest Welsh team they have seen in a while, but they are expecting Ireland to prevail on the day, even with the match being played in the Principality stadium. Even with some key players missing such as Caelan Doris, the stength of the Leinster squad will more likely result in an away win for Ireland, putting them on the path for another GS.
I would love to see Scotland retain the Culcutta cup for a 5th time in a row, but it’s a big ask, especially with an away game. Good to see the Finn R has passed the HIA recovery period and will be playing; I would so love to see Duhi VDM score a couple more tries in that unique powerful way that we have all come to look forward to. Allez Les Chardons !!
Our game in Rome hopefully will not leave us wanting; the inclusion of Theo A back in the squad gives us some real momentum; great to have two young wingers that are positively electric! Having Thibs back in the squad gives us his strength and inspiring running lines which hopefully will see us smiling at teatime on Sunday.
Elsewhere, it was sad to hear that Stephen Kitsoff will not be playing again for the Stormers this season after his operation; we wish him a continued recovery.
Enjoy the third 6N rugby weekend everyone !!
