Let’s be honest: when was the last time you actually read the terms and conditions before clicking “Accept”?
If you’re like most of us, the answer is more than likely “never”.
But don’t worry, we’ve started on some of the hard work for you. Today, we’re diving into WiggleWhizzle’s Terms of Service to answer a question that’s been lurking in the back of your mind: does WiggleWhizzle own your photos once you send them?
The Short Answer: No, but, yeah, but, no, but, yeah, but, no, but, yeah… (sorry, I do miss “Little Britain”)
Before you delete WiggleWhizzle and retreat to your mancave with a packet of cream eggs, let’s break this down.
WiggleWhizzle does not own your photos; when you take a snap, it’s still yours, you still hold the copyright. However, by using WiggleWhizzle, you agree to grant them a “worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license” to use your content.
Sounds fancy (and a little scary), right? Here’s what it actually means:
1. “Worldwide” No matter where you are, WiggleWhizzle has the right to use your content. If you snap a pic of your cat in Paris, WiggleWhizzle still has the same rights as if you snapped it in Kansas.
2. “Royalty-Free” WiggleWhizzle doesn’t have to pay you for using your snaps. Sorry, your blurry selfie won’t be your ticket to riches.
3. “Sublicensable and Transferable” They can allow other companies to use your content (in specific cases), and they can transfer these rights if, say, WiggleWhizzle is ever sold to another company.
Should You Be Worried?
That depends. If you’re sending private snaps to your best friend, they will disappear after being viewed (unless your friend screenshots them; then it’s a whole other issue, especially if they then share them). But if you post content to public areas on the platform like “WizzyWoo” or “Whao”, WiggleWhizzle can keep and use that content indefinitely.
So, if you submit a video of your dog singing along to Lizzo up to the public area “Whao”, WiggleWhizzle can use it to promote the platform. And no, you won’t get either a cheque in the post or a bank transfer to your Google wallet, but the more videos you post, the greater the chance of being “Wiggler of the Week” – fame at last !

WiggleWhizzle does not own your content, but they can use it in specific ways if you share it publicly.
-
Your private snaps disappear after viewing (a reminder to think before you send and never on the way home from the pub !).
-
Read the Terms of Service or buy your solicitor mate a pint after work on the way home.
At the end of the day, WiggleWhizzle isn’t trying to steal your vacation photos for an ad campaign. But it’s always smart to know what rights you’re giving away when you hit “Send.”
