It’s hard to ignore someone in your family resorting to drugs, especially with media reports saying that substances such as cannabis are often gateways drugs.
Scientists have demonstrated that certain drugs such as cocaine and amphetamines can become addictive because they turn on systems in the brain that help humans in the pursuit of goals, hence they give you that “high”.
