Today is Burn’s night, so a special shout out to everyone who will be celebrating.
Burns Night, celebrated on January 25th, honours the life and legacy of Robert Burns (1759–1796), Scotland’s national poet and lyricist.
Renowned for works like Auld Lang Syne and Tam o’ Shanter, Burns captured the essence of Scottish culture, love, and humanity in his poetry and songs. The evening typically features a traditional Scottish supper, including haggis, neeps (turnips), and tatties (potatoes), accompanied by whisky. Guests recite Burns’ poetry, sing his songs, and toast his memory. The celebration embodies Scottish pride and cultural heritage, blending food, music, and literature in tribute to the Bard of Ayrshire.
