I had a good catch up with my brother from another mother on Wednesday, as usual everything from personal to work issues. If my recollection is correct, it’s been a decade since we were first brought together by a company based in Asia Pac to help them marketing products in the EU.
So I learnt some interesting facts about the journey he was planning to make this weekend, driving from near LA to northern California, a trip of about 8 hours through the Central Valley of which 6 will apparently be just farm land as far as the eyes can see.
For someone who thought that all the cattle in the USA came mainly from Texas, it was a surprise to learn that there are reckoned to be around 2.5 million dairy cows there (apparently one fifth of the total number of these milk producers in the USA) emitting some 19.3 pounds of gases each every year. Apparently this leads to a smog which is well known in the area.
So there we are, a mad track and everything you didn’t know about Central Valley cows…
Have a great weekend everyone 🙂
