Allez Les Noirs cette après midi
So this one is for you Twinny; your boys better come good today at Twickenham and beat Les Rosbifs! Play hard and start off by giving them the best haka ever (eat your heart out Joe Marler…!). Put your all into this match and then you can relex when you come to the SdF in a couple of weeks’ time 😛
But above all this is for you and your friendship; from the rugby banter to the more serious conversations we have had over the time we have known each other. Our connection is a testimony of the friendship you can build with someone online, through common interests initially, but it endures because you just “get” and want the best for each other.
This comes back to my initial reason for setting up this site; to this day Nicki doesn’t know how much his comment meant to me at the time when I was low; it put a smile on my face and I hope over the months to come that we can help you in times of need or just to be here to have a laugh.
So today marks the start of the Autumn Internationals for us rugby fans; the northern v southern hemisphere series, matches that keep us going in between World Cups. My lads travelled up to Marcousis on Monday morning after our match v Toulon and have been training together with the others this week; the South African team has based itself in Jersey before heading to Edinburgh for their first match-I am sure that they will save some of their new moves for the match v England the following week.
I’ll end this entry by also saying a big thank you to my mates who thoroughly spoilt me during my birthday week; you all know who you are and I remain humbled by your kindness and thoughts. It’s been so nice to spend my birthday evening with you; I loved the cake, the dancing, the laughs and thank you for making me go red by getting everyone to sing happy birthday. You guys are the best!
Here’s my indulgence in memory of Thursday night:
