This is a track that goes well with a slow French rock…. 😉 and yes I have a new bag of Carambars !
So here’s hoping that we will be rocking the night away, even if it’s just in the kitchen making a very late supper after a couple of matches I am sure every rugby fan will be looking forward to.
The appetiser for us will be watching South Africa against England; Rassie has put together a very strong team as you would expect against an England side who have played well against them over recent matches. I had a really interesting conversation with a couple of South African rugby mates earlier in the week about the team and both agreed that Rassie would start Libbok at 10 if the weather was dry with Handre on the bench. With the players picked at 9 and 10, it looks like it’s going to be a very attack minded game. When Libbok plays at his best, he is such a pleasure to watch!
For our main course (although I doubt I will be eating much), we have our third match v the All Blacks since 2021 and while one of my SA mates did say the ABs may be match weary, they will be looking to stop us making it three wins in a row for sure!. We have quite a few significant absences through injury, notably François Cros and the newly capped Théo Attissogbe who I thought had a great game having come in at the last minute to replace Damien Penaud. We look forward to the return of Gabin Villiere and hope he proves as mercurial as before – we are going to need some serious free play against the ABs who have performed so well since their wobbles in the Rugby championship.
Thinking of you Twinny and hope you enjoy the match – whatever the score, you will always be one of my bestie rugby mates 🙂 x
