Whilst this track may seem corny for this weekend, the lyrics actually relate to something which is more profound and hopefully relates to you.
Firework relates to the spark we all have within ourselves, reputed to have been influenced by Jack Kerouac’s novel, “On the Road”. The video is interspersed with sequences of young adults finding confidence within themselves, from the shy overweight girl taking off her clothes and jumping into the pool to the leukaemia patient walking on a street despite the fact that she has hair loss.
Starting up this community has been a firework moment for me; stepping out into a void which, whilst familiar in terms of its segments is none the less somewhat daunting. A bit of a leap of faith, like Indiana Jones has to make in the Last Crusade.
As SME owners, you have already taken your leap of faith and not that I am claiming that this is the holy grail in any way, but maybe the room of cups is not so unlike what we are trying to offer, so that you can cherry pick which one(s) suit you as and when you need.
It’s sometimes hard to keep that inner spark going at times, in particular when something happens in our personal life that upsets the balance – from a row with our partner to coming home and finding that the storm has blown a tree down across your driveway, it’s never a smooth ride.
Some of us are lucky enough to have people around us who can step in and help when needed, but others may struggle or even not feel able to ask for help – I know I can be guilty of this because I don’t want to come across as a pathetic female…
What I do know is that inner spark remains regardless of what has happened around me; it may just need me to throw more fuel on it, in the form of taking a break or just eating a bit healthier.
